Abstract

The internationalization of higher education is a deliberate process initiated by higher education institutions (including Medical Schools). Its potential consequences expand beyond higher education itself, affecting the society as a whole. The article discusses the benefits, risks, perspectives and potential consequences of internationalization at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova). Although there are certain risks, the actual internationalization process of High Medical Schools has no alternative, and its expansion promises numerous potential advantages. Successful development of the internationalization involves good command and progressive development of both communicative and linguistic skills of all university employees as well as openness for cultural and ethnic diversity.

Abstract

The article presents the research results of the social portrait of families whose children have mental retardation. It was established that among the factors influencing the formation of deviations of children's mental health, a significant role belongs to social factors that form a psychological microclimate of the family, negative emotions. We revealed a direct strong correlation between the psychogenic type of origin of mental retardation and psychological deformation of the family (r = 1.00), living conditions (r = 0.76), a direct medium correlation between the psychogenic type of mental retardation and hereditary diseases of the cardiovascular system (r = 0.56). It was shown that a complex of unfavorable social factors determines the slowed-down pace of the child’s mental development.

Abstract

The article analyzes the main causes of arteriovenous fistula thrombosis in the early postoperative period in patients with terminal CKD. Surgical treatment was performed on 24 patients, who were divided into 2 groups. In the study group, the authors used the method of forming an arteriovenous fistula on the forearm. Besides, during the operation, was used device “surgical hand retainer”. The other group used a standard operating procedure. In the postoperative period, the “device for fixing the bandage” was used. When using the proposed method of forming anastomosis and the brush retainer, there was a decrease in the operation time and better postoperative results.

Abstract

The arm of the study: to assess the dynamics of blood pressure and myocardial remodeling processes in healthy men aged 40–54 years with prolonged follow-up. Materials and methods. In 1997, a clinical and instrumental examination of 539 healthy men aged 40–54 years was conducted (first group). In 2017, a similar study was conducted on 193 healthy men, comparable in age (second group). Results. Blood pressure in patients examined twenty years ago was higher than in patients currently examined (p < 0.05). The left ventricular myocardial mass index increased in patients of the second group compared with patients of the first group, the difference between the groups was statistically significant (p < 0.05). In patients of the first group, the main type of pathological remodeling of the left ventricle was LV concentric remodeling, in the second group, eccentric left ventricular hypertrophy became the predominant type of pathological remodeling.

Abstract

Back pain remains an important problem of modern health care. Local injection therapy will improve the results of treatment and reduce the side effects of systemic treatment. The paper describes the types of blockades that are used in the treatment of back pain: translaminar epidural, transforaminal epidural, sacral (caudal), myofascial trigger points, pear muscle, arcuate joint and sacroiliac joint. The technique of their implementation and the structure of complications are considered in detail. The article details the main types of navigation during local injection therapy: CT, ultrasound, X-ray, neurostimulation, electromyography. A separate section is devoted to drugs used in practice: local anesthetics (lidocaine, novocaine, ropivacaine, etc.), glucocorticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and hyaluronic acid. The complications of local injection therapy are described below.

Abstract

Objective: to increase the effectiveness of prevention of the development of cardiovascular diseases on the basis of studying the relationship between the degree of influence of physical activity on the elasticity of the vascular wall. A cohort observational prospective study was conducted. The study involved 92 people aged 18 to 22 years, of whom 45 were people with high physical activity who started sports training (group “active”) when included in the study, and 47 people with low level of physical activity who started classes medical physical culture for medical reasons (vision impairment, rehabilitation after infectious diseases). Among the people who play sports most intensively, the speed of the pulse wave increased more sharply than those who gave themselves sparing loads. High physical activity can increase the risk of damage to the vascular wall, while moderate physical activity if not healing the body, then slow down the physiological processes in the vascular wall, thereby contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
