The many faces of lupus: an unpredictable debut
Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease of unknown etiology, characterized by overproduction of organ-specific autoantibodies to various components of the cell nucleus and the development of immune-inflammatory damage to internal organs. Early diagnosis and timely therapy largely determine the prognosis of the disease. We present a clinical case of an atypical onset of SLE with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
